Honestly, my only bad experiences with the cops have been traffic stops and there were times when I was excused. There were also times I got a ticket that I thought I didn’t deserve, but I new I wouldn’t wind-up on the news. I’m not a thug or a hustler, but I have a critique. I grew up observing the hood. I lived in the hood. You can say I’m from the streets, but I went to private schools. Life’s been good to me. As a kid I played with those victimized by the streets. I’ve played ball with murderers and lost friends to violence in the streets. Yet I grew up thinking when you have a severe civil conflict you need to call the police. Then I heard this song in 1988 called “Fuck The Police”. The lyrics didn’t seem right, but it had a funky beat. Now I feel obligated to those who like retro hip hop. And throughout the country the confusion hasn’t stopped. I'm not a sucker, but here’s some healthy sociology. Conflict resolution is the only option, because 911 is a monopoly. It’s the balance of law and order that facilitates democracy. We’re on the wrong side of the gun. Don’t make the violence increase. Even with statistics and history considered, it’s time to say BLESS THE POLICE. We really can’t afford one bad guy with a gun and a badge, because if you act an ass they’ll justify retaliation. The truth of the matter is the blessings are for you as well, the citizen who doesn’t consider authority until they’re staring down the barrel of a gun. By then it’s too late to change your priorities; you’re done. Think about it, some cops don’t believe in God, but doesn’t bless you feel better in your thoughts, when with your next reaction you can suffer assault? If you make them think for one second they have to defend themselves when they’re trained to protect you; that’s a dichotomy my brother. That could make anyone confused. That’s when they start to use their power—which is ample—simply to make you an example. All because of a defense mechanism and neither sides the winner. Ideally, law abiding citizens should never suffer defeat from the police and those who do break the law are protected by a code of ethics. Realistically, before you go out in the streets make your decision and you’ll be protected from your potential impulsive projections. If you’re feeling emotional take control before you release. Arrest the Holy Spirit and BLESS THE POLICE. Of course there are some situations you just can’t prevent. It’s time to think about it now. What’s your street philosophy? Is it God bless this officer, or why the fuck is this pig stopping me? The problem begins with the way you perceive. There is no need to be bereaved because of one ordained to enforce the law (as many victims have been for what cops thought they saw). So understand when and what emotions to release. Lets all say a special prayer for the good cops out there. BLESS THE POLICE! The way you choose to live your everyday life and how you were raised influences your personal beliefs. For example, are you claiming the hood, or are you claiming the country that has set you free? Our freedom depends on the premise of democracy. Within that premise is where law enforcement resides. Understanding our potential to coexist makes it easier to abide. Each culture and population has their own priorities. Yes poverty and opportunity remain issues for all, but especially minorities. I don’t have all the answers, but what seems obvious to me is opportunities have increased and we should all strive to be free. Let’s direct our anger towards something simple like exercise. Find a stress relief. I know it’s not as easy as it sounds and many cops are naturally and predatorily hounds. Yet focus on the big picture. BLESS THE POLICE!
